GTFO is perhaps the most convincing experience of the horrors of survival in a cooperative since the Left 4 Dead series. In this guide we will tell you about how you can join the lobby at GTFO and start your first game to play with your friends and not only.
Guide and tips for playing GTFO – how to play online with friends, how to enter the lobby and play in a cooperative
As mentioned above, GTFO is under development at this early stage of the early access period. And the game with friends only works through Discord.
There are two ways to download a GTFO game: hosting a game or joining a game that is already hosted elsewhere. Both methods require the use of the Discord application. Never used this before? Don’t worry. It’s easy. Just click on this link to go to the Discord GTFO channel. You just need to confirm your email, which is easy enough.
On the Discord GTFO page, you will be able to see how other players publish lobby IDs and/or request games. Lobby IDs are what we most want to explain to you, as they will allow us to access the GTFO game in a cooperative with friends.
Follow these steps:
Go to the GTFO discord and on the left side, you will see the channel options. Scroll down until you see “Group Search”. Select the region that applies to you.

You will see other players inserting lobby codes.
These are the codes they received from placing their own lobby. You will need to copy this to the clipboard (control + V). It is also useful (but not always important) to remember which level a person places (e.g. A1, A2, B1, etc.)
Open GTFO and enter the menu “Connect to Rundown”.
Now that the lobby ID has been copied to the clipboard, you should see a small red field on the left side that pops up.
Click here and you will enter the Lobby of this person. If you don’t see it, try clicking on the “Level” that plays the host. If you still can’t see it, then you’re not fast enough – the game has already started.

If you want to host the Lobby instead and join your friends, just select the level at which you would like to play, click “Host”, and then click on the red box that appears in the top right corner and asks if you want to copy the Lobby. You can now insert this lobby ID on top of Discord.
Please note that GTFO Discord has several numbered channels that you can enter and use as your own personal chat room, both for organizing games and for chatting during the game session.
