How do you get to Spider Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed way to get to Tarantula Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As far as we can tell, getting to an island full of tarantulas is an accident. You can’t reach it by setting a specific target, you just need to be lucky (or unsuccessful, depending on your view of the creature). The only way to get to Spider Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to take the Mysterious Tour from Dodo Airlines.
Follow these steps to learn how to get to Spider Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons:
Collect Nook Miles until you have 2000 (tours to Mystery Island cost one ticket to Nook Miles);
Purchase a Nook Miles ticket at Nook Stop at the Resident Services tent (Nook Miles tickets will cost 2000 Nook Miles each time, then select the ‘Use Nook Miles’ option at Nook Stop and scroll down until you see a list of Nook Miles tickets for sale;
Go to Dodo Airlines to get your Nook Miles ticket (talk to Orville at the counter to collect your Nook Miles ticket;
Go outside to Wilbur for a trip to Mystery Island;
Remember that the trip to Mystery Island is a random one. Continue on to Mystery Island Tours and you’ll end up on Tarantula Island. Remember also to release your inventory before you go to Tarantula Island, as each caught creature there will add to your budget by selling 8,000 bells.
Tarantulas are very dangerous to catch, because they can attack. But the 8,000 bells you get for selling them are worth it. Instead of being surrounded by dangerous creatures, it’s better to corner them. Tarantulas won’t jump through the pits you’ve dug, so you can trap them or hide behind a wall of pits and catch them with a net as soon as they approach. You can visit Tarantula Island as often as a tour to Mystery Island will take you there.
Perform the following steps to catch as many tarantulas as possible:
Dig a series of pits you can stumble upon and are blocked from all sides except the original entrance;
Provoke tarantulas to pursue themselves;
Run to your traps;
Get to the end of the pit and jump over it (this should stall the evil tarantula behind);
Run to your entrance and dig another hole to block the exit;
Catch the other tarantulas on the island (which must now be completely immobilized), but don’t catch the trapped tarantula until you catch the others, as the other spiders only remain immobile when one tarantula is aggressive and surrounded by pits;
