Your citizens are upset because they are starving, and you don’t know how to raise the level of food? This guide will help you to increase the amount of food in Mount & Blade II Bannerlord and help solve food problems when you start taking towns and castles. This is a big problem because settlements are immediately in trouble because of food shortages.
Once you have your own kingdom and several settlements, you will have to start paying close attention to the needs of the settlements. They can really grow, develop and manage themselves after a while. But once you have taken over a settlement, you will need to keep an eye on what you are building, what you are investing in to give the population what they need most.
Power level management is one of the most important elements in Mount & Blade II Bannerlord.

When you first decide to conquer a settlement, the attack wreaks havoc and panic in the settlement.
Initial numbers with city characteristics are in constant motion after the attack, so don’t panic at the beginning if they are very low.
If the food is low, there are three things you need to do…
First, put some of the Denars in the reserves.
This greatly increases the construction time.
Second, make sure that the granaries are either at pumping level III or under construction.
Then, select “daily irrigation – default” – this is what the city will do when its other tasks are completed.
It’s simple enough. The main problem is that the numbers do not increase immediately, so you may have already taken similar steps, but you still see negative food indicators.
It’s okay.
It takes several days for these changes to have an overall effect on the nutritional status of the settlement. Once you have made these minor changes, continue to upgrade the granary and your settlement will no longer have food problems.
