You’ve been through It Takes Two and want to know how to restore your health. In this guide, you’ll learn everything you need to know to always keep your hero in shape.
It Takes Two is a new game from Hazelight Studios, offering a whole new world of cooperative adventure. The game has puzzles to solve, environments to explore, and dangers to overcome. The latter can be difficult to do without getting hurt, so if you’re wondering how to get healthy in It Takes Two, rest assured that you’re not alone.
Fortunately, we happen to be in the same boat. That’s why, after learning how to do it, we wrote down everything we learned and compiled it into the guide you’ll find below.
How to Heal in It Takes Two
Healing is a fairly simple process because it is only available at certain points in the game.
Namely, you can only heal in It Takes Two when one of your characters loses all their health. In that case, the player playing as that character will need to quickly press the triangle button on PlayStation consoles or the Y button on Xbox consoles.

This will resurrect the character after the button is pressed enough times. You will then be able to continue playing as normal and can repeat this healing process whenever one of your characters is knocked out.
Can you heal when both characters are knocked out?
It is worth noting, however, that there are limits to healing in It Takes Two.
First, you cannot revive your characters if both are knocked out at the same time. When this happens, you will be moved to the last checkpoint, and you will need to replay any segments that have not been recorded.
Likewise, you cannot heal a character who has fallen into a pit or water obstacle during the platforming stages. When this happens, you are automatically sent back to the checkpoint, and you will have to redo the segment until you clear it.
