You want to switch to a third person view in Grounded, but you don’t know how to do it in the game. In this guide we will tell you how you can switch to the third-person view in Grounded, and if you can do it at all.
You will start playing Grounded in the first person. In other words, you will not see your character running around the world. However, if you want to better understand the environment of the game, you have the option to switch to the third person view in Grounded and return to the first person on the fly. In this tutorial we will show you how to switch the screen mode for Xbox One and PC players.
How to switch to the third person view in Grounded
You can switch to Grounded mode on your PC by pressing the “U” key. You can do this at any time to quickly switch from first person to third person and press it again to come back.
On Xbox One – or if you’re using an Xbox One controller on your PC – the transition to a third party view is a bit more complicated.

First press d-pad to open your radial menu. Then you need to highlight the top option, which looks like a camera in black and turquoise. Press A when this option is highlighted to confirm your selection.
It is worth noting that PC players can also open this menu wheel at any time by simply pressing Z if they want to access the other options available here.
This includes switching options to display and hide traces and backpack markers, opening the map and providing feedback to developers. However, in terms of switching to third party viewing and back to Grounded mode on a PC, pressing U is definitely a simpler (and faster) option.
