The latest creation of Rockstar Games turned out to be a truly large-scale game with a huge open world and a lot of additional activities. In addition to the main plot tasks in Red Dead Redemption 2, there are siding quests, which are usually issued by strangers – unique characters, which can be found in different parts of the Wild West.
Secondary tasks in the game turned out to be rather branched out and multistage, so if you have difficulties with their passing, we advise you to study our guide.
The wisdom of the elders
The “Wisdom of the Elders” task chain is performed in Butcher Creek village. To get to it, in chapter six you must go west from Van Horn to the railway bridge. Right underneath it is an old man who constantly repeats the name of Butcher Creek Village. The settlement is close to the bridge, and Arthur helps the old man to get to it because he can’t walk on his own.
Note: To start the quest “Wisdom of Elders”, you do not need to start chapter six. You can start the task at the end of the fifth chapter.
Visiting Butcher Creek
By putting the old man on a horse, we take him to the village. As soon as Arthur arrives in Butcher Creek, he is met by a local elder named Obadaya, who thanks him for his help. After these words, the rescued old man suddenly attacks the hero. As soon as he is on the ground, Obadaya tells Arthur about the darkness that has taken over their settlement. This concludes the mission.
How to defeat dogs
The next task can start in 24 hours. Go back to Obadaya and talk to him. After the opening scene, the settlement is attacked by “demons”, under the guise of which ordinary rabid dogs hide. Defeating them isn’t difficult: all you have to do is fire a shotgun or rifle accurately. In difficult situations, you can use the skill “Blind eye”.
The main task of the new mission is indicated in the video that follows the killing of animals. The Indian believes that the settlement was cursed because there are strange amulets in the forest near the village. The hero has to take them off.
How to find and destroy talismans
The area south of the village is highlighted on the map. That’s where you need to go to find and destroy the 13 amulets hanging from the trees. To find the talismans you need to use the eagle eye skill. During the study of the forest it is also worth listening to the ringing of bells, as this sound on the mini-map will display the approximate location of the next talisman.
Once you’ve taken care of your last amulet, go back to Obadiah. The Indian will begin to claim that the talismans, on the contrary, were protecting the village. The protagonist decides to deal with this problem once and for all.
Now you need to go to the abandoned mine north of Butcher Creek. Once in the right location, explore the surrounding area and notice the nailed down passage to the cave. Click on the marked button to make the protagonist break one of the boards. Let’s go deep into the mine and get into the flooded room.
We find out that the water in the mine is poisoned by lead. The hero will gradually begin to lose his health. Note on your mini-map a pointer showing the way to the surface. We recommend to use as soon as possible the tonic, increasing the points of life, as without it Arthur simply will not have the strength to get out.
Having left the dungeon, we jump on a horse to the “damn” village, where residents began to sign the papers of the suspicious old man. We are looking at the final cat scene, in which justice will finally prevail.
