In September CD Projekt RED confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a full-featured multiplayer, but it will happen much after the release – first, the company will release all the content updates and full-featured extensions.
Now the head of CD Projekt Adam Kichinsky told investors that the developers are considering various options for monetization of multiplayer mode, allowing the probability of microtransactions. But it is still very early to talk about it.
The project is at a fairly early stage of development, and we continue to experiment. This is our first multiplayer game – we’re looking at all the possibilities.
Despite this, Kichinsky promises that developers will not violate their policy “Contract with the players”, which implies fair treatment of their audience: to ask for money only for valuable products.
Cyberpunk 2077 is in the final stages of production and will be released on April 16th at PS4, Xbox One and PC. Approximately one year after the release it is possible to start open testing of the multiplayer.
