Although Half-Life: Alyx comes out on a variety of virtual reality helmets, the upcoming Adventure in March will overlook the current market leader in terms of audience size – PlayStation VR.
According to designer Greg Coumer, initially the game will be released only on devices with SteamVR support, including Valve Index, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, but later it may appear on other devices.
VR-platform Sony became a huge success for the industry, and we assume that many owners of PlayStation VR are interested in the new chapter of Half-Life.
However, Valve is not currently working on Half-Life: Alyx for PlayStation VR as it focuses on the March release for SteamVR. After that, the studio can begin to transfer the game, the more so in the fall comes PlayStation 5, which is fully compatible with the first generation of PS VR.
